Abhishek Bachchan’s Chelsea Surprise
23 Jan 2012

 Abhishek Bachchan’s Chelsea Surprise

Football fanatic Abhishek Bachchan was given a tremendous surprise when he visited popular London restaurant Chak89 earlier this month. The star of recently released movie Players was gifted a framed shirt, signed by his favourite football team Chelsea, by the owner of the restaurant F Khalid. Also a major fan of Chelsea, self made millionaire F Khalid was delighted to learn that Abhishek also supported the same team as him and arranged for the very expensive gift. “I have a tremendous amount of respect for the Bachchan family and didn’t want Abhishek to leave empty handed. I’m really glad he liked the gift and enjoyed the food at Chak89, next time I will take him to watch a Chelsea match. He is a genuine fan of Chelsea football club and watches most of the matches,” said F Khalid.

Abhishek was clearly delighted to receive the collectors item and took time to discuss Chelsea football club with F Khalid. Abhishek met the British press at Chak89 at an event especially organised by Qatar based company KZ Entertainment before heading over to Cineworld Feltham to meet thousands of screaming fans. “We always like to get fans and media closer to the biggest celebrities in the world. The event and Chak89 and Cineworld enabled us to do that and it also gave us a chance to promote Indian cinema to audiences in the west. We hope to bring more stars from around the world to London,” explained Kaser Mehmood.

Abhishek is the latest in a long list of celebrities who have visited Chak89. Other A-listers who have visited the top restaurant include Amitabh Bachchan, Deepika Padukone, Vivek Oberoi, (actor) Imran Khan and Shah Rukh Khan along with a whole host of western mainstream celebrities. “We are proud of the fact that so many big names have visited Chak89 and plan to bring more celebrities to the establishment so they can meet the real die hard fans.

50 Sexiest Asian Men Worldwide 2011 Eastern Eye

HRITHIK ROSHAN WINS BIG

Handsome hunk Hrithik Roshan beat off tough competition from high profile stars to top Eastern Eye newspaper’s renowned list of the 50 Sexiest Asian Men In The World for 2011. The popular A-list actor led the voting from the outset and won by the biggest ever margin in the history of the men’s list to topple last year’s winner Ranbir Kapoor who finished sixth. Hrithik Roshan, who was third last year, got votes from all over the world from fans of different ages and cultures via social networking sites like twitter.

Described by many as a Greek God, Hrithik went back to winning ways in 2011 playing the lead role in mega-hit movie Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara and having his waxwork added to the Madame Tussauds museum in London. He also shot for the hotly anticipated Agneepath remake, featured as a judge on hit TV show Just Dance and signed up for hotly anticipated superhero movie sequel Krrish 2. Shahid Kapoor was the surprise runner up in second place, with Shah Rukh Khan in third and Salman Khan in fourth. Eastern Eye showbiz editor Asjad Nazir, who annually puts together the very popular list and is chairman of the judging panel believes Hrithik is a worthy winner and a leading man with global appeal. “This year there was a massive gap between Hrithik and the rest of the crowd. A majority of the men and women from different age groups, cultures and countries agreed that Hrithik was the sexiest man on the planet. He is the perfect ambassador for India and someone who could take on anyone in Hollywood in terms of looks, talent and likeability. The fact that he can probably get even better is a frightening prospect for rivals and great news for his fans,” said Asjad.

Indian batsman Virat Kohli (18) was the highest new entry in the 2011 list. Other big named new entries included Prateik Babbar (20), Ajay Devgn (29) and Farhan Akhtar (34). The highest placed Pakistani was once again Ali Zafar (5), the highest placed British star was Jay Sean (9) and the highest placed sportsman was World Boxing champion Amir Khan (10)

Other notable names in the list included John Abraham (7), Akshay Kumar (9), Arjun Rampal (11), actor Imran Khan (12), Saif Ali Khan (13), Atif Aslam (16), Riz Ahmed (21), Sidhartha Mallya (31), Mahendra Dhoni (33), Aamir Khan (35), Zaheer Khan (39) and hip hop star Shizzio (46).

Armeena Rana Khan First Bollywood Movie ITS TOO MUCH
04 Sep 2011

Armeena Rana Khan's First Bollywood Movie "ITS TOO MUCH"

A London-based international actress has broken through into the ultra-competitive world of Bollywood by landing a role in a new romantic comedy film.
Armeena Rana Khan has already forged a successful career in drama serials, tele-films, music videos and commercials. But she has been now been chosen to play the main female role in 'It's Too Much', which is being directed by Pushker Jog and filmed in London.

Armeena will play the part of Ishita Puri a model living in London.  She explained: "My character is happy-go-lucky and doesn't know what she wants out of life. She's always confused about things and is a female Casanova equivalent.
"She meets her match in a man called Jai (Played by the director Pushkar Jog). Jai is a creative director in a top modelling agency in London. He is equally as indecisive and confused about life. Will their whirlwind romance end up in a happy ending?"

Armeena has been appearing very regularly on the small screen this year, as she had a lead role in Geo TV's 'Dolly Aunty Ka Dreamvilla' which broadcast from January to April. This comedy soap saw her play the character of Preeti Mehta, a ditzy 27-year-old classical dancer and housewife.

Armeena was brought up in Toronto, Canada, and said that ever since she was a child she has had a passion for performing arts. She has modelled for magazines and fashion houses and studied at University in Manchester where she graduated with an Honours degree in Business.

She is the brand ambassador for the Global IPR Foundation and the UK arm of the 'I Hate Fake' movement. She has her own website at www.armeena.com.
It's Too Much (the film) will be released on February 14 (2012) by the production house GooseBumps Entertainment. It will feature song vocals by Adnan Sami , Salim Merchant and Lucky Ali.

The cast will also include Niks Vaja and Kiran Kalotia.

Shah Rukh Khan's Dubai performance cancelled

Shah Rukh Khan's Dubai performance cancelled

"Kareena Kapoor's filming schedule clashed with the Dubai date and Shah Rukh has refused to perform without her," a source told tabloid!

Dubai: Shah Rukh Khan is not coming to Dubai this Eid. The Indian Bollywood star, who was scheduled to have been the highlight of a five-day celebration called Shoppiesta, has cancelled due to scheduling conflicts of one of the stars he was to perform with.

"Kareena Kapoor's filming schedule clashed with the Dubai date and Shah Rukh has refused to perform without her," a source told tabloid!

Khan and Kapoor both star in superhero flick Ra.One, set for an October release. Organisers had earlier said that the Dubai event fit perfectly with the actor's global promotional tour schedule for the film. Actor Arjun Rampal, who is also in the film, has also dropped out.

The stars were slotted for the grand finale show called ‘We R.One'.

Actors Shahid Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra and Malaika Arora Khan will take their place, organisers have announced. The rest of the events during the five-day festival featuring American rapper 50 Cent and a host of Arab, Iranian, Filipino and Indian artists, will go as planned.

"It is a huge disappointment for us. As ‘We R.One' is a complete show in itself with roles for each performer, the unavailability of even one artist would result in an incomplete experience for the fans. This is something which both, Shah Rukh Khan and Citron (the owner of the event), prefer to avoid at all costs," said Radhesh Menon, the project director of Shoppiesta.

"We are confident of bringing the concert to Dubai post Shoppiesta. Our talks are progressing very positively and plans are afoot to organise a grand standalone show."

Shoppiesta, which has been promoted as a consumer fair, will also feature shopping kiosks, adventure sports arcades and a host of other entertainment and lifestyle attractions at Meydan, according to organisers. Tickets to the fair and the concerts will be sold separately from August 15.
