Bollywood's First 'Official' Hollywood Adaptation Revealed!
The first look of Bollywood’s adaptation of Hollywood hit film ‘Stepmom’ has finally been unveiled. Starring Kajol, Kareena Kapoor and Arjun Rampal, the film is set to release this October as one of 2010’s most anticipated releases.
‘We Are Family’ has been produced by Karan Johar and is the first Indian film to be an ‘official’ adaptation of a Hollywood movie with direct support from Sony Pictures. The film has been directed by debutant director Siddharth Malhotra who has been regularly tweeting about the film on his twitter page.
The talented director turned producer Karan Johar has been keen to tell the media about his partnership with Sony Pictures because of the constant backlash in the media when a Bollywood film clearly steals ‘inspiration’ from a Hollywood hit. Earlier this year, another big Hollywood production company, 20th Century Fox, notified director Ravi Chopra with a legal notice regarding his obvious plagiarism of the Hollywood film ‘My Cousin Vinnie’ in the form of Chopra’s next directorial venture, ‘Banda Yeh Bindaas Hai’. The film stars Govinda and Lara Dutta, however, due to the formal complaint against the film, the film is yet to find a willing distributor to release the film.
Audiences will also be able to catch the trailer for ‘We Are Family’ this Friday in cinemas worldwide.
