ClubAsia goes into administration
12 Aug 2009
One of London’s largest Asian radio stations, Club Asia, has gone into administration with immediate effect.
It was announced yesterday (11th) that the radio station which launched in 2003, was experiencing financial difficulties for quite some time and is now up for sale in hope that somebody will rescue the station to help continue its status as a youthful, Brit-Asian radio station.
Unfortunately, the figures released by RAJAR all last year explain the reason for such strain on the radio station; however, Club Asia proved that they had an increasing audience in 2009 through figures showing an increase in listeners for two consecutive quarters.
