Dil Bole Hadippa strikes trouble with the Sikh community
Only last month, KZ Entertainment bought you a story regarding the Sikh community’s objections to Saif Ali Khan’s home production, Love Aaj Kal. Now the same organisation is concerned about the portrayal of the Sikh faith in Yash Raj Film’s latest, lavish production, Dil Bole Hadippa.
The film which openly shows Rani Mukherjee dressed up as a Sikh boy in the trailer has come under scrutiny for using the Sikh faith to create humour as part of the films narrative. The group leaders met with producer Yash Chopra who reassured them that the film had no intent whatsoever to offend and that the film had been made with no intention to offend any faith or race.
The Sikh community were calmed down however they have demanded a screening of the film before its general release to see if Mr Chopra’s reassuring words are in fact true. They also asked for the turban which is used as part of the films logo to be removed from all promotional material as they felt it was inappropriate.
The film is all set to open worldwide on September 18th and will be premiering very soon at the Toronto International Film Festival.
