To all of those who are freaking out, you need to think about this a little. For starters, it's JUST a name. A name isn't something that can't be overcome regardless of what your name is. I've met someone named Richard Shivers. Making him "Dick" Shivers. And another guy who's first two initials are I.M. with the last name Gay. If people like that can overcome the downfalls of their name and be successful then having the name of Batman isn't really going to hold you back in life. It'll probably make things alot easier, actually, considering the icebreaker that having a name like that would be. It would also be really easy to make yourself stand out above your peers due to the extra attention you would get, making all that hard work noticed a little easier. It's really not all that bad of a deal for the kid if he approaches it with the right attitude. So all of those who are freaking out about this need to worry about their own business and stop nagging at a couple of parents about what they want to name their kid.

I think Batman is awesome.
It's better than ClyToris, who goes to my school. Or Hennessy, who also goes to my school.

People can complain all they want, but if he actually does this I'll have so much respect for him.

LOVE IT!!! not only does he get his own theme song when he walk in the room but he gets a cool name!! - I work with children, i remember being a child. I did have a unique name but the reason i was bullied had nothing to do with my name! and it's the same with the children i work with! a name doesn't define you and it will be a HIT at kindy!!

if its his fist name they can nick name him Bam or something

In all honesty this kid is going to LOVE having such a funky name until he gets older then the nick name kicks in and if he wants to when he is older still he can change it

I think those kicking up a stink are being bit silly! its a name!! i had one of the most traumatic times at school most people couldn't even imagine, if i had a name like batman i probably would have slogged em one instead of copping it all the time! if this child has parents who love and care for him, friends and family to support him, i am sure that the name is not going to make a lick of difference as to how he turns out! LOVE IT!!! i wish i had of been called something that cool!

if anything it might teach him not to judge lol

...Your kid, your choice. That’s the bottom line. While I don’t think it would ruin little Batman’s childhood, I’d expect that moniker to be an unnecessary obstacle at least.
Like us all, he’ll have enough challenges in life without the additional burden of an over the top, “everybody pay attention to me” name. By the time you find out if the kid is an extrovert or not, it may be too late to reverse the effects. I’m guessing that this’ll be his middle name. Not too bad. If it’s really going to be his main name, then the twisted future and parental indulgence of the “Balloon Boy” thing comes to mind. If my parents had given me an odd name, and I thought it was insensitive of them, I just wouldn’t have used it, but I wouldn’t have ever forgotten it either.
