how do i get a copy of the birth certificate??
HA! What a story to tell the grand kids. The world wide discussion about a name. How long will it be before it would be change is the real bet!
Its a NAME people, im called timothy, wot would u rather be called batman or timothy, at least with batman its funny.
It won't ruin his life and its a JOKE so get a life if the best thing u can do is go on the internet a complain about a name.
Won't hurt the kid, i named my daughter Jasmine Rose after the Disney princesses Jasmine, and Brier Rose (Aurora), and she loves it, so do all her friends. My son saw the page and want's to change his name to bat man! But what if it's a girl?? what the plan then??
batman is better than adolf hitler....
XD do it so that he can be a hero!
Batman would be an awesome name for a kid, although I wonder what the kid's reaction will be when he first watches Batman...
GO BATMAN
its not even very original...

ok so 2 people having the name batman out of 6 billion people makes it unoriginal?
and neither one of them has met each other, or even live on the same continent
as a comment to borakofsun lets think about this you say bat man isnt original yet hundreds of ppl name their child of example jessica ir john
If Nicholas Cage can name his kid Kal-el, FatherofBatman can sure as heck name his kid Batman. I think it's pretty awesome, and not many people would have the kind of guts it takes to step up and make the world a bit more interesting.
now we need a real-life Superman, c'mon!!
!
that kid is gnna be the most badass person ever i mean come on bat man
i wanna meet him when hes grown up if the guy does name him batman

no, but its not THAT original to name your kid after some superhero.
(plus this Batman bin Suparman guy is pretty famous on the internet, i smell copycat)

well if i would name my kid john or jessica i wouldnt claim to be original.
this guy does
I feel its my duty to help in naming this child batman.
Lets make this happen peeps! Batman FTW!
Well, the FB Fan Page has officially been shut down. But hey, I believe in that guy, so. I think he should go for it, be unique. And I don't think people should criticize. I think those people are the ones that fear change, get used to it guys, it's all around us.
The I will name my son Batman guy just said to register in the forums to get sent the birth certificate when it comes out..
Has he been posting here somewhere in the forums?
I agree with both sides of the argument, however, I have to ask what the real reason is for such a name to be presented. If in fact the father is head of the Batman Fan Club, eats his cereal out of a Batman bowl and listens to music through his Batman shower radio, then I would say go for it.
From what it looks like though, this is just his personal attempt at making a name for himself, and not really thinking about how it will affect the child’s life whatsoever. If his hidden agenda was not the attention being derived from such an event then he would just do it. Not make a Facebook page and need 500,000 peoples approvals. All that number is going to do for him is when someone tells him to his face that he is a moron he will be able to say but 500,000 people on Facebook like me!
I do agree with many of you that it would be awesome to be named Batman. But that is a decision I would want to make myself, not my parents for me. And on a slightly more important note, who would take Batman seriously in the business world? Introducing Batman at a board meeting, or Batman making partner… not that this is everyone’s dream in the world but some logical thought must be put into what you are going to name another human being. A name should just be a name, not something you are going to have to defend or embellish everyday of your life, and trust me, Batman will have to do one or the other all too often.
Whatever he chooses to do, I wish him and his child the best of luck. To each their own.
I think he just made a group to get attention
I think that he was just advertising this website or lets just see until January is he goes through with this
This is a horrible and shocking devaluing of human life. I strongly recommend this person to deeply contemplate and imagine what their child's life will be life in less than a decade after all the hype as gone away (well before then I'm thinking). They will be left with a son named "Batman", all for what? What's the point? Setting a record? I strongly urge this person to consider what the value of life is and what the responsibility of bringing another life into this world is. How could a wife agree to this? It's not too late to turn back and get rid of the page or just call it a bad decision- I think many people would gain more faith in the human race, those who don't believe in our spirit.
Really though? Batman? For what? This is another human's life we're talking about- starting off their life with that sort of great bias, what will that do to them? What sort of values will that inherently give them? What will that do for their self-esteem, to see that their life is so unimportant to even their own parents that they would make their name Batman? More importantly, to go through or even to put something like this into motion, what is this person's life values?
Is it possible that maybe commercial hype has gone a little too far? What are our values for both a husband AND a wife to agree to name their child Batman? If what, 500,000 people agree that it's cool?
I strongly urge this person to reconsider. I think this says something about our current mental environment. I think taking a few moments of silence and deep contemplation would really be a good idea.

Relax buddy its just a name i personally think that the kid will be the most popular kid in school at least to high school and if the name is causing the child that much anguish then i am sure the parents will change it if it comes to that
this would be awesome!
if i met someone called batman i would SOO date him.
