Batman ftw! Hopefully one day he'll get a girlfriend named Robin.

Re: I will name my Son Batman If this page gets to 500,000

i cant believe someone reported you! how harsh is that!?

Re: I will name my Son Batman If this page gets to 500,000

when's the baby due?

Re: I will name my Son Batman If this page gets to 500,000

At least he isn't naming the kid something worse, like Adolf Hitler (http://www.k-zentertainment.com/forum/v … 11&p=3). This family gave all of their kids Nazi names!
It's his life, and his son's life. We don't get to choose the names we are given, our parents do. This is what he has chosen. It's his decision, his wife is ok with it, so stop complaining about it people! He isn't going to change his mind regardless of what we say.
Do you know why the fan page was reported? It's pretty stupid that it was. There was nothing illegal or offensive on it.
Also I would like a copy of the Birth Certificate Please! smile
I think it will be pretty cool! (btw, you might also want to blotch some stuff out on the certificate on your computer- like address and your full names)
Thanks

Re: I will name my Son Batman If this page gets to 500,000

Seriously, anyone saying it will "ruin the kids childhood" is just stupid, i think we live in a society that is intelligent enough not to judge someone by their name.  Every kid at school gets picked on, for this kid it's just more obvious what everyone's going to say.  Think back everyone, just for a second, how many times had you been made fun of for your name, or your looks, or what you wear, we're always gonna have the couple of ignorant people that don't realize that them nor anyone else is perfect.

Every kid has the chance of having a terrible childhood, i had some problems with mine, but they didn't start until 7-8th grade.  Everyone goes through a point where life is tough on them, or they get downed on by someone, and i think it's better to experience it earlier to have time to amend their mistakes, as opposed to later in life where majority of people are too thick headed to think they've done anything wrong...

Also it is blatantly obvious to everyone that the dad in this situation really likes batman, meaning, he will be showing him all the comics, the movies, and playing all the games (please restrict that to Arkham Asylum!  others aren't too good) meaning the kid will think he has the coolest name in the world despite anything anyone will ever tell him.  The apple doesn't fall far from the tree, immediate family effects your life the most, and if you don't believe me just take religion and politics as an example, how many people do you know that think differently from their parents or their siblings on those topics, not because they're rebelling, but because they actually think that way.  When i think of it I might know 2 people.

So please do name your son Batman.  I hope he has a good life as i presume he will.

This is a horrible and shocking devaluing of human life.  I strongly recommend this person to deeply contemplate and imagine what their child's life will be life in less than a decade after all the hype as gone away (well before then I'm thinking).  They will be left with a son named "Batman", all for what?  What's the point?  Setting a record?  I strongly urge this person to consider what the value of life is and what the responsibility of bringing another life into this world is.  How could a wife agree to this?  It's not too late to turn back and get rid of the page or just call it a bad decision- I think many people would gain more faith in the human race, those who don't believe in our spirit.

Really though?  Batman?  For what?  This is another human's life we're talking about- starting off their life with that sort of great bias, what will that do to them?  What sort of values will that inherently give them?  What will that do for their self-esteem, to see that their life is so unimportant to even their own parents that they would make their name Batman?  More importantly, to go through or even to put something like this into motion, what is this person's life values?

Is it possible that maybe commercial hype has gone a little too far?  What are our values for both a husband AND a wife to agree to name their child Batman?  If what, 500,000 people agree that it's cool?

I strongly urge this person to reconsider.  I think this says something about our current mental environment.  I think taking a few moments of silence and deep contemplation would really be a good idea.

So what if he names the kid Batman! good for him! its sad that some websites like facebook dont acknowledge cool names like tht my 16 year old brothers name is Monkey Hubert facebook wont accept that as a real name name to get on he had to put it as Hubert!
Its sad that people do think of really cool names and people just dont accept them for what they are uber awesome! My parents named me Untitled and all of my friends call me by different names its really awesome so don't you dare tell me its demoralising and devaluing of human life! Whats your name anyway before you get on your high horse??

Re: I will name my Son Batman If this page gets to 500,000

I hope you get them a Batman costume for Halloween or their birthday or something

Re: I will name my Son Batman If this page gets to 500,000

if he does name his son batman i hope that he also gets the comic books big_smile

Re: I will name my Son Batman If this page gets to 500,000

I think it is cool.  The people who are all up in arms about this need to get a grip.  Kids get weird names all the time, parents have the right to name them whatever they want.  Personally, I'd rather be Batman than Ernest or Rupert, or something like that.

Re: I will name my Son Batman If this page gets to 500,000

His kid will have the coolest name in the school. FACT!

For example, if his surname is Jones there would be nothing more awesome in that kids day than to hear a teacher take a register and ask if "Batman Jones" is present big_smile

That name kicks more ass per square inch than any other.

Re: I will name my Son Batman If this page gets to 500,000

With all the random naming stupidity out there, I think this is badass. People have been named after fictional characters before. I myself was named after Shaun Cassidy, so this kid will be significantly cooler than me. I am happy to see this happen.

Re: I will name my Son Batman If this page gets to 500,000

i say let him do wat he wants if he is actually concidering it then it is not any1s place to tell him he is wrong, parents name their kids varieties of names for different reasons and it sure would b interesting not to mention he would b famous on the internet because of his father i would like to no wat the mother/wife thinks

MJ names his kid blanket...

I told my mother about this, and she thought it was disgusting. I personally think it's not so bad. It's kind of cool. big_smile

As these people ^^ stated, it's really not so bad in comparison with a host of other names.  I'd rather have a kid named Batman than Blanket, Camera or Jermajesty. lol

The parents could easily name their kid [boringly typical first name] Batman [last name] instead of Batman as the first name. Or, even better, Bruce Wayne [last name] and call him Batman for a nickname.

The kid can always change it when they get older, but, as someone else has said, the father in question here will no doubt expose this child to all that is the world of Bruce Wayne and Batman.  The kid is going to think his name is cool. smile   Besides, the names John, Michael, Steven, Mark, Andrew, Robert, David, Harold etc have all been done to death anyway. wink

(Note: Even though I do think it's nuts when people name their kids after Nazi's, terrorists and other evil and sick individuals, a parent has the right to name their kid what they want. We don't all have to like it, and, frankly, neither does the kid (I hated my name Mindy for many many many years).  In the end, it's the person, not the name of the person, that matters.)

Re: I will name my Son Batman If this page gets to 500,000

if i was named batman, i'd use it to its full potential, you could be extremely popular in elementary or middle school if you used batman to make jokes, laugh at yourself sometimes, and just have a positive outlook on life, this could actually be a good thing for the child. it'd give him aa better view on life and make him an optimist.

I think if he wants to name his son Batman it's up to him. Who is anyone in this world to tell this man what to name his own son?  Some people are just  not happy unless they are raining on someone's parade.  I mean really stopping the fan page on facebook is really going to stop the man from doing what he really wants?? Good Job loser!  I say name your son Batman... FAWk It..!
