I would love my name to be something cool like that
.. but yeah it would probably be most advisable for batman to be the middle name i.e; charles batman smith or whatever, that way you could still call him batman, but when he gets older like for job applications and such they wouldn't think hes pullin' their chain

Really though? Batman? For what? This is another human's life we're talking about- starting off their life with that sort of great bias, what will that do to them? What sort of values will that inherently give them? What will that do for their self-esteem, to see that their life is so unimportant to even their own parents that they would make their name Batman? More importantly, to go through or even to put something like this into motion, what is this person's life values?
Is it possible that maybe commercial hype has gone a little too far? What are our values for both a husband AND a wife to agree to name their child Batman? If what, 500,000 people agree that it's cool?
I strongly urge this person to reconsider. I think this says something about our current mental environment. I think taking a few moments of silence and deep contemplation would really be a good idea.

I really do think that everyone is takin this way too seriously. I agree with what has been stated before its up to this couple what they name their child. We have a thing called free will in this country which entitles us to do what we wish with in the law when we wish and if its their wish to name their child Batman so be it i say

I beleive that there are already a few children in the UK named batman and sometimes rediculous names are banned for example a couple wanted to call their son "4real" which would have been very cool but they were not allowed so they changed it to batman!
I think it's frikken AWESOME! If I knew someone called Batman, I would think he'ss the coolest guy ever! In fact, I wanna meet this guy & shake his hand! I really wanna see a copy of this kid's birth certificate! Well done!

This guy should be allowed to do this what he names his son and how he chooses to decide is his and his alone and if you don't like it go away
