Re: I will name my Son Batman If this page gets to 500,000

This is a horrible and shocking devaluing of human life.  I strongly recommend this person to deeply contemplate and imagine what their child's life will be life in less than a decade after all the hype as gone away (well before then I'm thinking).  They will be left with a son named "Batman", all for what?  What's the point?  Setting a record?  I strongly urge this person to consider what the value of life is and what the responsibility of bringing another life into this world is.  How could a wife agree to this?  It's not too late to turn back and get rid of the page or just call it a bad decision- I think many people would gain more faith in the human race, those who don't believe in our spirit.

Really though?  Batman?  For what?  This is another human's life we're talking about- starting off their life with that sort of great bias, what will that do to them?  What sort of values will that inherently give them?  What will that do for their self-esteem, to see that their life is so unimportant to even their own parents that they would make their name Batman?  More importantly, to go through or even to put something like this into motion, what is this person's life values?

Is it possible that maybe commercial hype has gone a little too far?  What are our values for both a husband AND a wife to agree to name their child Batman?  If what, 500,000 people agree that it's cool?

I strongly urge this person to reconsider.  I think this says something about our current mental environment.  I think taking a few moments of silence and deep contemplation would really be a good idea.

lol, we get it. Chill out.

Re: I will name my Son Batman If this page gets to 500,000

I feel like although this would be entertaining to us, it kind of destroys this kid's childhood. If anything I think this guy should change the group to legally change his own name to batman if he gets 500,000 people

Re: I will name my Son Batman If this page gets to 500,000

Lexsip, I have one thing to say.... SHUT YOUR DIRTY MOUTH! I strongly urge you to sit down and contemplate what you have done with your life and what you will do with it. I bet you have never had a kid but if you have or someone is dumb enough to have one with you, I bet you would like to name it whatever you choose....

Everyone needs to calm down and let things go

lol, such strong feelings.

Asl?

Re: I will name my Son Batman If this page gets to 500,000

It's a name.  ONE name.  It could be Alexander Batman (Last name here).  Just because he names HIS child what HE wants to doesn't mean that his child has to go by Batman.  Think about the names that people have out there...I mean come on.  I think batman is so much better than some of the names I have heard in my life (Lemonjello((Pronounced Lay-mon-ge-lo)), Orangejello(Pronounced Or-ang-je-lo)  <--yes, these are peoples names, named because the mother ate a lot of jello and liked the way they sounded.)  Sound stupid now?

And just think about how much fun it would be to say "I am batman"!

What about the celebrities?  http://www.rateitall.com/t-21102-strang … names.aspx

Re: I will name my Son Batman If this page gets to 500,000

Let the guy do what he wants. It's his kid. If he wants to name it batman then that's his choice. He's going to do what he wants anyway so I don't know why people are whining about it. Just shut up. No one's telling you what to do with your life.

Re: I will name my Son Batman If this page gets to 500,000

People, all of you who say it would ruin the kids life are naive. My Real Name is Indiana Jones. I lived with it my whole life and i love it. I actually like it more than having a normal, boring name. So don't say it would ruin his life, cuz it's actually the opposite. It's fun and cool.

Re: I will name my Son Batman If this page gets to 500,000

i agree with indiana jones, i know a few people who have been named after things, such as my friends name is Steven Tyler Rogers, and i know two other people who have names like this, Tyler Indiana Jones, and Wesley Ignatious Hall. just because this one is so publicized is when people wanna bitch? fuck all you that are hating on this guy. I got all my friends to add his fanpage. suck my dick.

Should it not be the choice of the parents to name their child what they want. Even if we did join this group (which I did) the parents should be allowed to name their child Batman if they please. My parents named my Edward which I hate if Im honest but i live with it.

I just think that does'nt it go again'st alot of things we stand for if we are not allowed to name our own child what we want. This is a link to a site which shows what people are called and I dont see how this is any differnt http://www.ethanwiner.com/funnames.html

Ok seriously get over yourself. This issue isnt as serious as your making it to be, a person name DOES NOT define who they are by any means necessary. My names Mohamed and as many know that the most common name out there and its the name of an Islamic profit, yet it seems im an atheist so the fact that my name was meant to be in good faith a connection to my old religion meant nothing. A persons name is just a way to identify them out of 6 billion+ people, this has nothing to do with commercialization, this is a families personal choice and nothing more. I personally think it would be amazing if a person had that name, with its rarity and power behind the name it would seem like people would respect it more then ridicule it. Well ive said my 2 cents, thanks for listening big_smile

Re: I will name my Son Batman If this page gets to 500,000

NAME HIM BAT MAN ANYWAYS!!

Re: I will name my Son Batman If this page gets to 500,000

I think this is a very bizzare idea, but very creative. Though, I would also suggest that, maybe, instead of of naming your son "Batman", what about Bruce Wayne (Enter_Your_Last_Name_Here)? It's your choice in the end though. I would really like to see a copy of the birth certificate though when your son is born, as you asdvertised on your soon-to-be-deleted page on facebook smile

Re: I will name my Son Batman If this page gets to 500,000

Awesome. (:

Re: I will name my Son Batman If this page gets to 500,000

Have to say just like some one else did. The name does not have to be "just" batman. Could be a middle name or something. Don't see why people are getting so bent out of shape. Not like you have to call this kis batman every day. Nope his parents do. So if they want to yell it out the back door when he is out side playing then so be it.

Re: I will name my Son Batman If this page gets to 500,000

This is awesome. The parents should (and do) have the right to name him whatever. Worse names are thought up every day, but to me, it would be awesome to be named Batman.

Re: I will name my Son Batman If this page gets to 500,000

a good point from the face book wall_Jeff Walters-You should look at this from a legal standpoint. You have how many hits on your site in support of naming your son Batman? That's as good as a petition. You can have a park cleaned up with a few thousand signatures and last time I saw one of your posts you were somewhere in over a hundred thousand I think...even if you're only half way there, that'... Unroll Parchments a quarter million people supporting your right to name your child whatever you like. You should submit that to whoever is threatening that right, along with a threat of your own to sue. Watch how fast they back off...and then you can someday tell your son that a half million people wanted his name to be Batman.

Re: I will name my Son Batman If this page gets to 500,000

Some people are too god dang analytical. I seriously doubt that the child's psyche or mental status will be greatly effected by him batman. Hell, I think it would be awesome as hell to be named Batman. I mean, there are always those people in life who will be considered "bullies". Everyone deals with them, but that doesnt mean that this kid will be so mentally unstable and that his life will be ruined or some crap just because his name is batman.
