Michael Jackson's insurance policy excluded illegal drug use

The $17.5 million policy is meant to cover losses form canceled concerts

The insurance policy taken out on Michael Jackson for his series of 50 London concerts that were cancelled due to the pop star's untimely death excluded cancellations if he was found to be in possession of illegal drugs.

The $17.5 million policy, which was taken out in April by Jackson and concert promoter AEG Live, is also supposed to be null and void if the singer was involved in the "illicit taking of drugs", reports the Associated Press.

It is suspected that Jackson's doctor gave him a deadly combination of sedatives and the anesthetic propofol before his death due to cardiac arrest on June 25.
