MJ Funeral still unclear ?
Earlier this week, the word on the street was that Michael Jackson's body was going to be transported to his Neverland Ranch where fans would be able to come and pay their last respects. His father, Joe Jackson, was quoted as saying that the funeral would be open to the public. Reports from TMZ claimed that the star would be accompanied by a 30-car motorcade during the four-hour drive from Los Angeles to the Santa Barbara ranch while CNN said that he would be driven through the streets in a glass horse-drawn carriage. Today, those plans are looking less and less likely. His family hasn't commented on their plans saying that it's too soon to determine. However the fanfare and chaos of a public viewing doesn't look like a possibility. Authorities in Los Angeles and Santa Barbara haven't been alerted of any plans, and accommodating for such a large-scale event would require a lot of preparation. Santa Barbara Fire Department spokesman Capt. David Sadecki said that the family had not contacted them, but they department would "accommodate the Michael Jackson family for any request that they might have." There has also been speculation that the memorial might happen at the Staples Center. Meanwhile, the Los Angeles Times is reporting that the star will not be buried in Neverland Ranch. His family had wanted to bury the star in the beloved locale, but couldn't clear the legal hurdles to allow him to be interred there.
